Two Caught Stealing On CCTV Sentenced To Life In Prison

    Two suspects captured on video robbing a pedestrian along Rosewood Avenue in Kilimani, Nairobi while armed with a pistol and a knife have been jailed to serve life imprisonment.

    The two found themselves confronted by the tough hand of justice after they were found guilty of Robbery with violence contrary to the Law.

    While passing the sentence Senior principal magistrate Zainab Abdul said that the two accused Humprey Minyata Muhambe And Timothy Jahani Muzami aged 24 years and 28years were not remorseful of the offense during their mitigation and that a strict sentence should be made to serve a deterrence effect to the other potential criminals.

    The magistrate while sentencing the convicts said that the pistol used by the two accused persons to commit the heinous offense was never recovered by the police.

    ” I have considered that such crimes are rampant nowadays and the weapon used by the accused persons to rob the complainant was never recovered ,it’s still out there committing similar offence” ruled the Magistrate.

    The two were charged with robbing Paul Sewe Omanyi of his computers, phones and other electronic accessories all valued at Sh396,733 on June 25,2020.

    They were in a bag that Omanyi was seen on a CCTV footage surrendering to the suspects after he was confronted by the armed thugs in the early morning incident.
