A suspected thug was Tuesday night shot dead after he and four others raided an estate near Mlango Kubwa area, Mathare, and started to rob residents.
The gang immobilized the guards, confiscated his mobile phones before it continued with its mission.
Police officers on patrol were tipped off and rushed to the scene.

A chase ensued and in the melee, one of the thugs was gunned down.
The other gang members escaped.
Police say cases of armed robberies have risen since the lifting of the Covid-19 pandemic curfew last week.
