At least 14 people were injured when a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) they were travelling in lost control at Mutithi – Kagio junction on the Mwea – Embu highway in Kirinyaga County.
According to boda boda riders who witnessed the accident, the driver of the matatu that was ferrying 13 passengers from Embu to Nairobi lost control after hitting a tuk tuk from behind, then rolled into a ditch near a rice farm.
The tuk tuk rider, who was heading to Mutithi from Kandongu at the time of the Saturday accident, was however not injured.
Good Samaritans took the 14 injured persons to White Rose nursing home hospital in Mutithi with serious injuries.
