The footbridge across Thika Road at Witeithia near Thika is being installed, bringing to an end accidents along the busy superhighway.
Interways Construction Company Limited commenced the works on 19th December 2019 on behalf of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).
The move will arrest nascent passenger accidents that have variously been reported in the area.
The delay in installing the footbridges was occasioned by logistical challenges occasioned by delays in clearing steel structures at the port of Mombasa.
