The Ministry of Health has confirmed 246 new cases of Coronavirus, pushing cases to 32, 364.- By Gerald Gekara
In a statement to newsrooms, the Ministry of Health confirmed that a one-year-old infant was among the infected. The oldest case is 87 years.
In terms of counties, Nairobi led with Nairobi (78) cases, Kajiado (24), Kiambu (22), Nakuru (20), Busia (17), Trans Nzoia (17), Machakos (16), Kirinyaga (12), Kisii (11), Kisumu (8), Mombasa (6), Embu (3), Garissa and Nyeri each had (2) cases.
Nyamira, Kakamega, Isiolo, Kitui, Kericho, Murang’a, Kilifi, and Tharaka Nithi each reported (1) case each.
A total of 548 people have so far died from COVID-19, after 6 people were confirmed in the last 24 hours. The number of recoveries also rose to 18,670 after 217 patients recovered from the disease.
The home-based care program that was launched in late June, has seen the recovery of about 95% of all COVID-19 infections.
“Today, 217 patients have recovered from the disease, with 178 being from the Home-Based Care program, while 39 have been discharged from various hospitals. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,670,” said the Ministry.
