BY LILIAN MUNTHEU – Authorities in Great Britain were left baffled after 39 dead bodies were discovered in a lorry in Essex, shortly after 1.40 BST at Waterglade Industrial park.
Essex police found 38 adults and 1 teenager in a lorry that was said to have come from Bulgaria and entered the country through Holyhead on Saturday.
“We have arrested the lorry driver in connection with the incident, who remains in custody as our inquiries continue’’ said Ch Supt Andrew Mariner, while hinting that they anticipated a lengthy process of identifying the bodies.
Meanwhile The Waterglade Industrial park in Grays has been cordoned off until the investigations are completed.
