4 Suspects In CCTV Robbery Video Remanded

Four robbery suspects will be detained in police custody after being arrested for reportedly breaking into a parked car in Nairobi’s South C Rumi Estate.

Fabian Ochieng Ndubi, Fredrick Wanyingi, Kevin Adote Onyango, and Phil Scholten Ail were apprehended last week and arraigned at Kibera Law Courts, where they pled not guilty to all counts.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects were charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony in violation of Section 393 of the Penal Code, stealing from a locked motor vehicle in violation of Section 279(g) of the Penal Code, and malicious injury to property in violation of Section 339 of the Penal Code.

The DCI recorded that the four trailed a businessman after he made a bulk transaction of Ksh.350,000 at Equity Bank Nairobi West Branch on February 3, in what the police believe was a well-planned crime.

“Detectives then discovered in this specific instance that the male victim halted his Mercedes Benz at the Equity Bank Nairobi West Branch at approximately 2.30 pm, where he withdrew Ksh.350,000 ostensibly for payment of his workers at a construction site,” the DCI said in a statement on Friday.
