Police officers from Starehe have continued to send dire warnings to gang groups they believe are hiding in slums in Starehe, Embakasi and kamukunji areas.
This comes after they arrested five suspects believed to be notorious muggers who have carried out robberies using knives and other sharp objects in the area.
The arrest came after the Huruma Police Station OCS received intelligence reports on Sunday about a group of suspected criminals hiding within Huruma Grounds, where he launched an operation to flush them out.
Three of the five were apprehended on the grounds, where upon search, each was found to be armed with extremely sharpened knife hidden under their trousers.
They were identified as Kennedy Wamae, Kelvin Mwaniki Lanjuki, and Bernard Musyoki.
Other seven suspects fled to the St. Martin area, but police apprehended two of them in a subsequent operation.
According to authorities, the two suspects, Fredrick Nangoti and Pascal Ouma, are from Eastleigh and Mathare North, respectively, but they told police that Huruma is their hunting ground.
The five were processed and arraigned before the Makadara Law Courts on Tuesday.
Officials from Huruma explain that there are plans and activities to hunt down others whose intelligence is on the verge of capturing them in an operation they call Operation Fagia Muggers that involves even citizens.
