Eight passengers have been killed in a grisly road accident involving a matatu and a trailer truck in Ngata area, along the Nakuru – Eldoret Highway.
Confirming the incident, Nakuru County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi said the accident occurred around 3 a.m. and that the matatu which was headed to Nairobi had a head-on-collision with the trailer.
“We have now established that 8 people have died, 5 others, including children were seriously injured. The lorry driver escaped after the accident, we are looking for him. The matatu driver is among those who died,” he said.
Those injured were rushed to the Nakuru Level 6 Hospital.
