Celebrated Kenyan footballer who plays striker, Dennis Oliech has officially retired from football.

In a report by Daily Nation,Oliech said that he made the decision after none of the clubs in the Kenya Premier league (KPL) failed to show interest in working with him after exiting Gor Mahia.

“I have officially retired from playing football and will venture into business. I had stated when I left Gor Mahia that I would bounce back by joining Wazito or Bandari, but nothing is forthcoming and that is why I have not seen any need to continue. I have retired both international and at a club level,” said Oliech.

He is also reported to have made the decision after watching how the returns in Kenyan football have dropped off over the years terming the wrangles at KPL leadership as politics played by people with personal interests.

Oliech revealed that he will soon start an agency business and use the network he has created in various countries to help grow talents.

“I will be an agent for young talented footballers so as to enable them get clubs in Europe. I’m not interested in coaching as I feel I have done enough in playing and now time to help others grow their talents by ensuring they join good clubs,” he said.

Oliech has made great achievements in his football career having played for Harambee Stars for over a decade and being ranked second time all time top scorer with 35 goals under his name.
