Two police officers arrested after being busted slaughtering stolen cow

Two police officers stationed at Kaptagat police station in Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet county, were arrested after they were found culpable of slaughtering a cow that had been reported missing at Kaptagat police station.

According to the police report, the two, Chrispus Butali and Samwel Mbugua Njuguna, were arrested after being found at the scene where the cow was slaughtered. 

Police noted that one Josphine Kandie had reported her cows missing, and later, she got information that a cow had been found slaughtered at Kaptagat police station.

Irate members of the public stormed the station, demanding the transfer of the officers, including the OCS.

Police tried in vain to calm down the rowdy residents who had barricaded Eldama Ravine -Eldoret road.

Locals have staged a protest inside and around the police station, seeking compensation of at least three cows that had been reported missing

By the time of publication, officers were still engaging locals in running battles.
