Bangbet Kenya Launches Hospital Fund to Support Patients Stranded Over Medical Bills

Bangbet Kenya has unveiled a new hospital fund under its Changing Lives initiative, aimed at assisting patients who are detained in hospitals due to unpaid medical bills. The fund seeks to offer financial relief to vulnerable individuals and families, particularly new mothers and victims of road accidents.

Speaking during the launch, Bangbet Kenya CEO David Gichuhi emphasized that the initiative is rooted in compassion and community support, not corporate promotion.

“This initiative is about transformation, not transactions,” said Gichuhi. “It’s about standing with the people, especially during difficult times, and using our platform to support real stories of hope and growth.”

The idea for the hospital fund was sparked by Bangbet’s recent outreach at St. Mary’s Hospital, where the team encountered numerous patients unable to leave after treatment due to mounting medical costs. This experience highlighted the pressing need for sustainable support in the healthcare space.

The initiative complies fully with the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) guidelines, with no promotional betting activities associated with the program. The focus, Bangbet says, is solely on creating meaningful social impact.

Priority beneficiaries of the fund will include patients from underserved communities who face extended hospital stays simply because they cannot afford to pay their bills.

The hospital fund adds to Bangbet Kenya’s growing portfolio of community initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to being a socially responsible brand that supports the very communities it serves.
