Siaya Governor James Orengo has announced that the Local Authorities Pension Trust (LAPFUND) has committed Ksh 5 million as a Silver Partner for the forthcoming Siaya International Trade and Investment Conference (SITICO 2025).

The sponsorship, Governor Orengo said, is both a financial boost and a strong endorsement of the county’s vision to position Siaya as a hub for trade, investment, and inclusive growth.

Beyond the sponsorship, LAPFUND has also expressed interest in partnering with the county on strategic projects, particularly in the housing sector, to help transform livelihoods.

“Our partnership with LAPFUND is rooted in a shared mission to empower farmers, women, and youth, expand opportunities, and accelerate value-chain development,” Orengo stated.

SITICO 2025, set to take place from October 14 to 17, will bring together government agencies, private sector players, and community representatives to explore opportunities for collaboration and prosperity.

The governor emphasized that with partners like LAPFUND, Siaya is laying the groundwork for sustainable growth, inclusive development, and lasting partnerships that will extend benefits beyond the county.
