Russian Crypto Millionaire Dies in Fiery Lamborghini Crash in Moscow

A Russian cryptocurrency millionaire has died after his Lamborghini burst into flames following a high-speed crash on a Moscow highway.

Alexei Dolgikh, 36, was driving three friends in his £330,000 Lamborghini Urus at 93 miles per hour when he lost control and flipped the vehicle along the International Highway in the early hours of Sunday morning. Dashcam footage showed the car failing to make a turn before colliding with a guard rail and bursting into flames.

Police confirmed that Dolgikh and passenger Ivan Solovyov were killed instantly. Two other passengers, identified as 21-year-old Nikita Tezikov and 22-year-old Kirill Mochalov, were rushed to Botkin Hospital with serious injuries, including multiple fractures.

Videos shared on Russian social media showed the luxury SUV engulfed in flames, its roof crushed against the tarmac. Scattered banknotes could be seen strewn across the road. Investigators said the initial cause of the crash appeared to be excessive speed, with the posted limit on that section of highway just under 70 miles per hour.

Dolgikh had reportedly been blacklisted by several Russian banks over money laundering suspicions, according to local media. He was also notorious for an extensive record of traffic violations, having been fined 586 times in the past 15 months, mostly for speeding.

The businessman’s Lamborghini had previously been linked to a shooting incident last year in Moscow’s upscale Patriarch’s Ponds district. A man identified as Dmitry Kh allegedly fired a non-lethal pistol outside a restaurant before fleeing in Dolgikh’s vehicle. The crypto trader later presented himself to police and was cleared of involvement.

Prosecutors have taken over the latest investigation. Dolgikh is the second high-profile Russian cryptocurrency figure to die in recent weeks.
