A high-profile defense attorney has withdrawn from the murder case against Nick Reiner, who is charged with killing his parents—renowned Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele.
Attorney Alan Jackson’s departure was announced during a court hearing Wednesday.

Jackson later stated he still believes his former client is innocent.

Nick Reiner, 32, did not enter a plea to two counts of first-degree murder during his brief appearance in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead with stab wounds in the bedroom of their Brentwood home on Dec. 14.
