The Central Bank of Kenya has released the official daily exchange rates for April 21, 2026, showing the Kenya shilling maintaining relative stability against major global and regional currencies.
According to the data, the shilling traded at Ksh129.11 against the US dollar, reflecting a stable position within recent trading ranges.
Against other major currencies, the local unit exchanged at KSh174.59 per Sterling Pound and Ksh152.11 per Euro. The Japanese Yen (per 100 units) stood at Ksh81.27.
Regionally, the Kenya shilling exchanged at Ksh28.69 against the Ugandan Shilling and Ksh20.05 against the Tanzanian Shilling, while the Rwandan Franc traded at Ksh11.31.
The South African Rand was quoted at Ksh7.89.
The Central Bank’s latest figures indicate continued stability in the foreign exchange market, supported by consistent inflows and steady demand for the local currency amid prevailing economic conditions.
