7 killed as Rembo Bus Collides with Trailer Head-on Along near Salama, Mombasa Road

7people have been confirmed dead, several critically injured following a head-on collision involving a Rembo Shuttle bus and a trailer at ACK Salama along Mombasa Road on the night of June 7, 2026.

The accident was reported by the Long-Distance Drivers and Conductors Association (LoDDCA), which issued an alert warning motorists to approach the area with caution as emergency response efforts continued at the scene.

“Head-on between Rembo shuttle bus and trailer at ACK Salama. Approach the area with caution,” LoDDCA cautioned.

Authorities and emergency teams remained at the scene as rescue operations and investigations into the cause of the crash got underway. Motorists were advised to exercise caution and expect possible traffic disruptions in the area.

Images shared by the association from the crash site showed the heavily damaged Rembo shuttle bus next to a trailer carrying a blue CMA CGM shipping container.

Firefighters and other emergency responders are also seen attending to the incident.

According to the Kenya Red Cross, 27 critically injured casualties were evacuated to Sultan Hamud Sub-County Hospital following the crash.

The emergency response operation involved the Kenya Red Cross, county emergency services, the National Police Service and other partners, who worked together to rescue victims and provide medical assistance.

Emergency teams remained on the ground managing the aftermath of the accident, with injured survivors receiving urgent treatment at the hospital.
