Jesy Nelson quits little mix saying being in the band affecting her mental health

Jesy Nelson has been in the band for almost 10 years and she recently announced that she has quit the band which comprises on only girls.

She revealed that being in the group has affected her; mental health ‘. She made this announcement on Monday on her Instagram page to her fans.

“to all my mixers, the past nine years in little mix has been the most incredible time of my life we have achieved things I never thought possible .from winning our first Brit award to our sold out shows at the O2, making friends and fans all over the world I can’t thank all you enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel the luckiest girl in the world .you have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never forget it.”

The truth is recently being in the band has taken a toll on my mental health .I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard .there comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making me happy .I am ready to embark on a new chapter in my life. I am not sure what it is going to look like right now but I hope you’ll still be there to support me.”

“I want to thank everyone involved in our journey, to every single fan who came to our concert, who listen to our songs, who sung their hearts out, sent me messages and supported me all the way.

“Most of all I want to say thank you Jade, Perrie, and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most amazing music and that you’ll continue to fulfill all your dreams and keep making music”.  Wrote Jesy

Her band mates were very supportive of her and encouraged her to do what is right by her. And the three remaining vowed and said they are not ready for their little mix journey to be over.

The group came in to fame after winning the X-factor in 2011 and so far they have released sic studio albums and 4 singles with music videos too. They even have their reality TV show which began airing on BBC One in September. And Jesy Nelson wasn’t present in any of their appearances. And a spokesperson of the group said that she was absent for some medical reasons.
