Deadly Indian COVID-19 Variant Confirmed in Kenya

Kenya’s Health Ministry reported on Wednesday, May 5, that the Covid-19 version from India had been discovered.

According to health studies, the variant is said to be 15 times more lethal than the original COVID-19 virus.

According to the Ministry, five cases have been discovered in Kisumu so far.

From a total of 4,426 people tested in the last 24 hours, 489 have tested positive for Covid-19.

From a total of 1,692,532 tests performed since March, the total number of confirmed cases in the world currently stands at 161,393.

449 Kenyans and 40 foreigners are among the latest events, including 266 men and 223 women.

The smallest is a four-month-old baby, while the oldest is 102.

552 patients recovered from the virus, 303 from health facilities and 249 from the home-based care program.
