The Kilifi County government is seeking ways on how to benefit from the Kenyan-Tanzania relationship. – By Ramadhan Kambi.
Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi who met Kenyan ambassador to Tanzania Dan Kazungu in his office in Kilifi town said the two discussed matters of mutual interest touching on development among other issues.
“More so, our engagement also touched on how County Government of Kilifi and Tanzania can each reap the full benefits of the cordial relations between Kenya and Tanzania following President Samia Suluhu’s maiden official visit a few weeks ago, which has cemented ties between the two nations and promoted cross-border trade,” the governor said.
Ambassador Kazungu, who hails from the county said there are a lot of opportunities both Kilifi and Tanzania can benefit from, adding that more investment opportunities are plenty in the region for Kenyans to tap in and develop themselves.

“There are many opportunities for both Kenya and Tanzania to tap into in these two countries. So Kilifi should not be left out. We must also grab those opportunities for our people to trade and benefit from this mutual friendship that has been existing,” said Ambassador Kazungu.
“I am delighted by Amb Kazungu’s gesture and willingness to ensure Kilifi County gains the most in trade and the blue economy as we look to diversify sources of income and create more employment for our youths,” the governor said.
