Senior Sergeant Grace Nyamohanga, alias ‘Nasra,’ surrendered to investigators on Sunday afternoon, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced.
According to the authorities, Nasra was in command of a large gang that swindled Kenyans out of hundreds of millions of shillings on false promises of employment possibilities.
“She is currently being processed to appear in court tomorrow, to answer to various charges including obtaining money by false pretenses, forgery & money laundering among other charges.” The DCI indicated in its update on the case.
Sergeant Nyamohanga is thought to be the brain behind the audacious criminal enterprise, which is reported to operate from deep within Nairobi’s Langáta Women’s Prison
Detectives began following her after three of her victims offered to record statements.
