In Kirinyaga, police are probing an incident in which the body of an unidentified man was found dumped in a sack near the bank of river Nyamindi.
The body was found by women who had gone to collect firewood in the area.
They then raised alarm, attracting the attention of locals who called the police.
Detectives from Wang’uru police station who responded to the report said they are treating the matter as a murder.
Residents living along Nyamindi river and the surrounding areas are worried over the increased cases of bodies dumped in the river.
