Matiang’i Promise To Family After Kabete Killings

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i says the probe into a police officer’s shooting death of six people in Kabete on Tuesday will be completed in a few days.

He spoke during a commemoration event for Police and Prison Officers who have died in the course of duty.

Preliminary investigations into the shooting, according to the CS, show that a love triangle may have prompted the tragic murder-suicide.

"We are devastated by the shooting and extend our condolences to the victims' families. At this point in the investigation, we believe it is tied to a love triangle," he stated.

According to Matiang’i, the DCI and the National Police Service’s Internal Affairs Unit are conducting an active inquiry into the situation and will keep the public informed.

"The DCI and the Department of Police Internal Affairs are already on the scene. We should be able to share the outcomes of the investigations with the public within three days. We have nothing to hide."
