Ambassador Joins Race for Kitui Governor

Kilonzo Julius Kiema, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Uganda, has announced his candidacy for Kitui County Governor in a spectacular event held in his rural home of Kavalula in Kitui East Constituency’s Nzambani ward.

Kiema Kilonzo, the previous MP for Mutitu, now renamed Kitui East, announced that he will run for the seat through the Wiper Democratic Party of Kenya during a ceremony attended by five delegates from Kitui County’s 40 districts.

Kiema informed delegates that Kitui County leadership requires a radical transformative leader like him to end the county’s five-year period of misrule under the current administration.

Paul Musyimi Nzengu MP for Mwingi North, Kennedy Kalonzo MP for the East Africa Legislative Council, former Kilome MP Mutinda Mutiso, Madam Beth Syengo Member of the ODM Women League, and Muasya Kalonzo were among those who attended the launch.

The wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has two sons, Kennedy and Muasya Kalonzo.

Several politicians are interested in the seat.

Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu, Ambassador Julius Kiema Kilonzo, Former Governor Julius Makau Malombe, Former Senator David Musila, and Former Nairobi Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke are among them.
