Kenyan forces have killed 15 suspected al-Shabaab militants in the Bodhei area of Boni Forest.
Security forces, according to sources, tracked the criminals to their hiding deep in the forest.
The accused are thought to have been planning and carrying out the raids that have rocked Lamu in recent weeks from their hideout.
In recent weeks, Lamu has been subjected to a series of attacks that have resulted in the deaths of 15 residents and the destruction of more than 15 dwellings.
The Kenyan government has imposed a 30-day curfew in various districts that the Interior Ministry has designated as “disturbed areas” due to the deteriorating security situation.
