A 40-year-old man emerged at his home in Konoin, Bomet County, after reports that he had been kidnapped.
Benard Lang’at Cheruiyot was last seen on Tuesday at his house in the Toboino district, six days after he was abducted.
Lang’at’s father, Samuel Kiprotich, reported his son missing and that unknown persons were phoning him demanding Ksh.450,000 in a report filed at Konoin Police Station.
According to reports, the suspected kidnappers claimed Lang’at owed them the money.
When confronted after reappearance, Lang’at said he was actually detained at the Kisii Police Station for undisclosed reasons.
Lang’at had been running a pharmacist shop in Toboino Trading Center until he mysteriously disappeared.
He is expected to record a statement with the police station.
