Senator Beth Mugo Loses Husband

Ambassador Nicholas Mugo, the husband of nominated Senator Beth Mugo, is dead.

Senator Mugo announced that her spouse died at the Nairobi Hospital after a long illness.

He was 86 years old when he died.

“With profound sadness and sorrow, I wish to announce the death of my husband, Amb. Nicholas Mugo, that happened early this morning at the Nairobi Hospital after a long illness,” she said in a statement.

Amb. Nicholas Mugo was among the first group of Kenyans to benefit from the late Tom Mboya and the late Dr. Julius Kiano’s scholarship program for further studies in the United States, which was established in the 1950s in partnership with the late US President John F. Kennedy.

He was Kenya’s Ambassador to France, Ethiopia, the Vatican, and Yugoslavia during his career as a career diplomat.

Amb. Mugo, who was a church Elder at P. C. E. A. St Andrews Church for many years, will be laid to rest on February 4, 2022.
