Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has formally proclaimed his desire to run for re-election in August.

Kabogo will run for the seat with his Tujibebe Wakenya party, which he says is open to forming coalitions with other like-minded political parties.

He made the remarks on Tuesday, when he presided over a consultative meeting attended by hopefuls interested in running for various electoral positions within the party.

Tujibebe Wakenya’s leader also announced that the party’s National Delegates Convention (NDC) will take place this month.

Kabogo will face a slew of other candidates, including Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi, County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu, Thika MP Jungle Wainaina, and former governor Ferdinand Waititu.
