ODM Leader Raila Odinga has been endorsed by UDM delegates for the country’s top position.
Raila’s candidacy was unanimously approved by the delegates, who said that the party will back him under the Azimio la Umoja agreement.
“The UDM endorses the Right Hon Raila Odinga as its Presidential candidate for the 2022 general election,” said party lawyer Issa Mansur.
The party’s cooperation with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party was also reaffirmed at the convention. The delegates also approved the party’s affiliation with Azimio la Umoja.
Delegates also accepted new party colors – red, yellow, and black – as well as the goat as a symbol.
