A businessman has been arraigned in court to face charges of tax evasion, amounting to Ksh, 200 Million.
James Musungu Rapando, the director of Widrups Group Limited was arraigned in court for evading taxes.
Widrups Group Limited, together with director James Musungu Rapando were sued Kenya Revenues Authority (KRA), in an ongoing crackdown against tax cheats.
Appearing before Chief magistrate Wendy Micheni, Mr. James Musungu Rapando denied the charges of tax evasion and was released on a bond of Ksh 2m with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 1m.
According to the charge sheet seen by Uzalendo News, the offence occurred between 1st January 2013 and 20th January 2018.
The case has been slated for hearing on 25th March 2022.
