Raila Jets Back After London Trip

Raila Odinga, the leader of the ODM party, has returned to Kenya following a week-long trip to the United Kingdom.

On Tuesday morning, the ODM leader was greeted by leaders from his Azimio la Umoja party.

Former Jubilee secretary general Raphael Tuju and Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch were among them.

Raila departed the country on March 13 for a week in the United Kingdom.

Raila gave a lecture at Chatham House and met Anglican Centenary, the world’s head of the Anglican Church, and UK Minister for the Armed Forces James Heappey while in the UK.

The ODM leader also met with Lord Tariq Ahmed, UK Minister of State for Foreign Commonwealth and Development Affairs, and Theo Clarke, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s trade envoy to Kenya.

Raila also had the opportunity to speak to Kenyans living abroad and attended the Arsenal vs. Liverpool match at Emirates Stadium.

His visit came just days after Deputy President William Ruto completed a 12-day tour of the United States and the United Kingdom.
