Jesse Lingard’s representatives have been approached by West Ham about signing the player on a free transfer.
Following the expiration of his Manchester United contract, the midfielder will become a free agent on July 1.
Lingard had a successful loan spell at West Ham in the second half of the 2020/21 season, scoring nine goals in 16 Premier League appearances, while Newcastle attempted to sign him in the January transfer window.
Former interim United manager Ralf Rangnick dismissed criticism from Lingard’s brother in May after failing to bid the midfielder farewell at Old Trafford.
