President Uhuru To Launch Remaining Projects In Last Lap

As the retiring President attempts to convince voters to elect Mr. Odinga and reject DP Ruto, political undertones are expected to dominate the tours.

In his final full week in office before the August 9 general election, President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to commission significant development projects all over the nation.

The President will inaugurate initiatives that he hopes will define his presidential legacy while touring the Vihiga, Coast, and Nyanza regions as well as his own backyard on Mount Kenya.

However, as the retiring President attempts to convince voters to elect Mr. Odinga and reject DP Ruto, political undertones are expected to dominate the tours.

According to the President’s allies, the tours are intended to kill Mr. Ruto. They also aim to reinforce the “get out and vote” message, which will help Mr. Odinga gain support in places like the Coast and Nyanza.

The President has largely avoided Mr. Odinga’s campaign trail, criticizing his deputy instead and supporting him from other platforms, like those used to announce development projects.

The Head of State has so far asked the locals in Samburu, Laikipia, and Nakuru counties to support his preferred successor in order to commission various projects over the past two weeks.
