A body has today been found at a recycling centre two days after a man was arrested and charged on suspicion of murdering a missing mum.
Cops today charged Pitsea local Garry Bennett, 36, with the murder of 30-year-old Madison Wright, who was last seen at 8.30am on July 22 in Basildon, Essex.
Bennett will appear at Southend Magistrates Court on Monday, August 1.
Cops searching for Madison found a body at the Pitsea Recycling Centre in Basildon.
The tip and a nearby park is closed due to an “ongoing police incident”, an Essex County Council statement said.
Cops have not confirmed whether the body discovered is Madison’s but her family has been informed of the development.
They are receiving support from specialist detectives tonight.
A council statement read: “Pitsea Recycling Centre is closed today (Sunday 31 July), due to an ongoing police incident.
“Residents are encouraged to use Recycling Centres in Canvey or South Woodham Ferrers as alternatives.”
Essex Police have urged anyone who saw the young mum or her black Vauxhall Astra, which has the registration EU13 JVW, between 8.30am on July 22 and July 26 to come forward.
