President-Elect William Ruto is now in full control of the Parliament after clinching speakers for both houses.
Former Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Gladys Boss Shollei were elected Speaker and deputy for the National assembly.
Azimio La Umoja candidate Kenneth Marende was defeated after round one, conceding defeat after garnering 130 votes against Wetangula’s 215.
In the Senate, Former Kilifi governor Amason Kingi won by a landslide alongside Senator Kathuri Murungi.
This was after Azimio La Umoja candidate Kalonzo Musyoka dropped out of the race. As a result, Amason Kingi garnered 46 votes.
Now Ruto will breathe easy with an absolute majority in parliament to implement his hustler agenda.
