The Milimani Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Court has declined the application by the defense to refer the case facing former finance minister Amos Kimunya to the trial Magistrate, who had acquitted him.

According to Hon. Lawrence Mugambi, there was no Justification to refer the case back to Chief Magistrate Felix Kombo, who had cleared Kimunya and his two co-accused persons.

The prosecution through Vincent Monda and Wesley Nyamache had objected to the application.

The Court, however, reviewed Kimunya’s bond terms from Ksh 2 million to Ksh 1.5 million with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 700,000.

His co-accused Lilian Wangari, Junghae Wainaina, and Midlands Limited were also granted similar bond terms.
