Cabinet secretary nominee for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mithika Linturi has revealed that he is worth Sh1.2 billion.
While addressing the National Assembly Committee on Appointment, today October 21 the former Meru Senator revealed to the committee that he is anticipating a big payday from court awards and monies owed from services rendered to the government amounting to Sh1 billion.
“Mr. Chairman my financial net worth which includes my investments in various companies in this country and other investments in saccos are to the tune of Sh1.2 billion,” he said.
“My current income is money I get out of rental income. Business, I’m a dairy farmer, and the amount I’m expecting to get in the near future is beyond Sh1 billion.”
Linturi recounted how he had grown his wealth from the Sh 30 that he left his father’s house with to the wealth he holds today.
“I left home with only Sh30 without any clothes in a bag, without knowing where I would sleep and my hustling life started there,” he said.
Linturi is the first to appear before the committee today.
