Blow To Governor Wamatangi As MCAs Reject CEC Nominees

Kiambu County Assembly MCAs have failed to approve the list of nominated County Executive Committee Members, citing a need for more time to review the appointment committee’s report.

Following a sharp disagreement in the full house, the MCAs urged the chair of the appointment committee to table 10 motions of the individual nominees separately so that they could examine each candidate’s credibility.

Ward representatives announced that they will reject some candidates after discovering fundamental issues that could impair their performance if they are given significant responsibilities.

Nancy Kirumba (Finance, ICT, and Economic Planning), Bibianne Waiganjo (Education, Gender and Culture, and Social Services), Margaret Ruinge (Administration and Public Services), and Salome Wainaina (Housing, Physical Planning, Municipal Administration and Urban Development) are among those shortlisted.

Others include Nancy Gichung’wa (Trade, Tourism, Industrialization, and Investments), David Kuria (Water, Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources), Samuel Kimani (Roads, Transport, and Public Works and Utilities), Elias Mbuthia (Health Services), Ali Korar (Youth, Sports, and Communication), and Wilfred Mwenda Kiara (Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperatives Development).
