Vocal Korogocho MCA Absalom Odhiambo Onyango, commonly known as Matakwey or Mobimba has been arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over incitement.
Mobimba was apprehended by DCI sleuths at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) headquarters, where he had been summoned for his inciting statements.
“We arrived at the Commission’s headquarters and were asked to sign statements. We requested to be allowed to come in and record the statement on Wednesday, February 1 before they left to go and photocopy the documents” Mboya narrated.
According to the outspoken lawyer, it was at this point that NCIC summoned DCI investigators, who arrived and snatched up his client.
Apollo also said that the committee informed them that they had failed to provide a copy of the sermon to Absalom because they did not know how to contact him.
He further added that his efforts to find out why the MCA was detained by the detectives were futile since the sleuths were evasive in their responses.
“The police admitted to me that they had instructions from above following Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s complaint,” he explained.
Apollo further admitted that he was caught unawares by the sleuths who moved with speed in the company of the Nairobi County legislator.
