Police Raid Pst. Ezekiel’s New Life Prayer Centre And Church In Bungoma

Bungoma County police commander Francis Kooli led a team of police officers on Thursday morning who visited the church premises of pastor Ezekiel Odero at Sikata in the outskirts of Bungoma town.

Kooli told reporters that if he does not comply with their summons, he will be arrested.

“We have called him but he says he is not around. If he does not show up we will be forced to use other means to get him,” said Kooli.

The police commander has also cautioned land owners in the county against leasing land to religious leaders without authenticating the church’s registration certificate.

According to Daniel Anzata, a neighbour, the church, which has less than ten members, was established two months ago.

He however welcomed the decision to investigate the conduct of religious leaders whose teachings are questionable.

Police have summoned the owner of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church in Bungoma town in the ongoing crackdown against rogue pastors in the county.
