A middle-aged woman has been charged with forging an identification document in order to inherit a deceased man’s land parcel.
Leah Nyambura Mburu was charged with obtaining a National Identity Card under false pretense.
On June 26, 2018, Leah is alleged to have changed her National ID’s identity from Leah Nyambura Mburu to Leah Nyambura Kamore by alleging falsely to be married to James Kamore Njomo, who was already deceased at the time.
Further, she was charged of forcefully detained a land title deed number 19040/1 IR NO.1160/211 a land belonging to Phoebe Wangui Gakui hence causing a breach of peace against her.
She was also charged of giving false information to Langata Area Chief on April 5,2018 where she informed the chief that she was the wife of James Kamore Njomo a fact she knew to be false.
Leah was also accused of duping a Registrar of Persons Officer June 26,2018 at Kariokor by presenting a male adult pretending the said male adult was her husband James Kamore Njomo who at the time was already a deceased.
She is further said to have taken the forgery business way too far by moving to the High Court in a succession cause posing as the widow to the deceased James Kamore Njomo and swearing an affidavit to gain access and control of his property locking the legal widow outside the property ownership.
Appearing before Senior Principle Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe, she denied the charges and she was detained until Monday June 26, when her bond application will be canvassed.
