Police in Kirinyaga County have arrested a man from Gichonjo village, who allegedly stabbed his wife to death over the sale of beans without consulting him.
According to residents, the two had harvested the beans together, and when the man returned home, he began fighting with his wife, killed her, and later surrendered to the Kianyaga police station.
Residents were outraged by the killing and were baying for his blood after the incident.
Residents in the area reported finding the body in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor, indicating that she had been stabbed multiple times.
Police said the suspect, 40, has been arrested while they investigate what may have led to the murder.
The deceased’s body was transferred to Kerugoya level 5 hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
