Kenya Railways, in partnership with the Nairobi City County, has announced the temporary closure of the Nairobi Railway Matatu Terminus.
In a notice on Friday, the station said the terminus will be temporarily closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 24.
“Kenya Railways, in conjunction with Nairobi City County, intends to carry out a comprehensive ground penetration radar (GPR) at the Railway Matatu terminus and the Easy Coach Park,” the statement read.
The statement mentioned that the exercise is part of the design and planning process of the new Nairobi Central Railway Station and Public Realm and is also a component of the Nairobi Railway City Project.
It further stated that matatus from Ngong Road and Valley Road will pick up and drop off people at Green Park.
Matatus from Langata Road and Mombasa Road will pick up and drop off at Agip Bus Bay, in front of Posta City Square, and the street between Neno Evangelism Church and Shell-Petrol Station, off Haile Selassie Avenue.
