A Police Officer Burnt To Death, Two Others Seriously Injured In An Accident

The three officers are said to have gone on a drinking spree in Ugunja town and were on their way back to Siaya in a private car when they were involved in the accident.

A police officer was killed and two other officers were seriously injured in a road accident last night at Fuludhi Bridge on the Siaya-Rang’ala road.

The three officers are said to have gone on a drinking spree in Ugunja town and were on their way back to Siaya in a private car when they were involved in the accident.

According to Siaya sub-county Police Commander Benedict Mwagangi, the private car TOYOTA Voxy belonging to one of the officers lost control and collided with the bridge rails before rolling.

In the end, he said, the vehicle caught fire, killing one of the officers and leaving the other two with leg fractures.

Siaya Police boss, Mr. Mwangangi stated that the officer who was burned was trapped in the vehicle, but the other two officer, whose legs were broken, were able to crawl out before the vehicle caught fire.

The police chief confirmed the 8 a.m. incident, noting that the officer’s body has since been removed to the Siaya County referral hospital mortuary, while the other two who sustained serious injuries are being treated at the same facility.
