Makueni County has taken a significant step towards transforming its healthcare system with the launch of an integrated health management information system, dubbed #AfyaMakueni.

The system, which replaces outdated manual processes, will interconnect all healthcare facilities in the county, allowing for seamless sharing of patient information.
Patients will no longer need to register multiple times at different facilities, as their records will be accessible across the entire network.
“A patient registered at Mtito Andei will not need to register again at Makueni County Referral Hospital (MCRH) or any other facility,” said Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr during the launch ceremony at the Makueni Referral Hospital.
“This innovative system is a game-changer for healthcare management and delivery in our county.”
The #AfyaMakueni system will also provide comprehensive data on patient histories, including previous treatments, medications, and allergies.
This information will aid healthcare professionals in making informed diagnosis and treatment plans.
Furthermore, the system will enable inter-facility borrowing of healthcare commodities, promoting resource utilization and service delivery across the county.
This feature will also help ensure accountability in the use of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical services provided by county facilities.
Governor Kilonzo Jr emphasized that the new system will revolutionize healthcare management and delivery in Makueni County.
