Senior Hospital Director Faces Attempted Murder Charges

The Aga Khan Hospital Director, Kisumu branch has been with the attempted murder of his ex-wife.

Patrick Eshiwani Amok, the director of Aga Khan hospital was arraigned in court today where he faced charges of attempted murder contrary to the Law.

According to the charge sheet, Patrick on diverse dates between August 19 and September 3, 2015, conspired to Kill his former wife Catherine Njogi Kamau who is also a medical practitioner.

Patrick faced another count of attempted murder where on the same date it is alleged that he conspired to execute Kennedy Ontiriah Momanyi, the current husband to his ex-wife.

Facts surrounding the case are that on December 10, 2016, flying squad officers from Kisumu got some information that Doctor Eshiwani was planning to kill his ex-wife and alleged lover.

The report was that he paid more than Ksh 500,000 to have the wife and her new husband killed. One of the hitmen was identified to the officers by an informer.

The informer upon interrogation told police officers that he was told by one of his friends that Doctor Eshiwani had contracted him to kill his wife and her alleged secret lover claiming that the secret lover had snatched his wife.

The informer further said that Eshiwani organised a meeting and during the meeting, they negotiated a price of Ksh 1 million for the job.

The figure was later bargained to Ksh 700,000 and a down payment of Ksh 400,000 was made.

Appearing before Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi at Milimani Law Courts, he denied particulars of the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh 300,000 with alternative cash bail of Ksh 150,000.
