Aisha Jumwa, Sifuna ordered to appear before NCIC over incitement

Vocal Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa and the ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna have been directed to appear before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over hateful comments. – By Gerald Gekara.

The duo have been summoned over comments made during the Msambweni campaigns in Kwale County, where they exchanged unprintables against one another.

The commission said the comments are likely to stir ethnic violence in the area due to the nature of the political insults.

The brawl started when Malindi legislator Hon. Aisha Jumwa claimed that the ODM party members were hatching plans to rape her. She however dared those planning to do so as she is not afraid of anyone.

In response to her allegations, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna distanced the party from her claims. He added that the party was not interested in her and would think nothing of the sort against the female MP.

Should the two fail to appear, the NCIC will institute contempt against the accused persons.

Currently, Aisha Jumwa is facing corruption charges over the alleged misuse of funds meant for the National Government CDF projects.
