Mutua Suffers Set Back In Hotel Ownership Row

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his divorced wife Lillian Ng'ang'a

Dr. Alfred Mutua, the governor of Machakos, has been dealt a setback in his attempt to wrest control of their A&L hotel from his former sweetheart Lilian Ng’ang’a.

After the registrar of companies reversed shares he purportedly transferred from her, this happened.

Ng’ang’a had filed a complaint with the registrar of companies alleging that after their divorce, the governor reportedly reallocated approximately 1800 shares she owned in Ndash businesses, which owns the Machakos hotel.

The registrar found validity in the complaint submitted November 11 last year, according to Ng’ang’a’s lawyer Philip Murgor, “and has overturned the entry in the business and the illicit transfer of the 1800 shares.”

Mutua and Lilian now control 2000 shares apiece, according to the amended hotel ownership records at the registrar.

Last year, the governor and his first lady made headlines when they both announced their split on social media.
