Serial Shoplifter Snatched From Court By Detectives

Alvin Chivondo, the man whom former Governor Mike Sonko paid Ksh100, 000 bail after shoplifting 5 litres of cooking oil and 5kg of Basmati rice, has been produced in court but did not take plea.

Chivondo was arraigned in court barely three weeks after governor Sonko secured his release from custody by settling his fine. 

After the release, the serial shoplifter was caught up stealing food stuffs from a supermarket. 

The investigating officers from Central police station brought him to Milimani Law Courts and whisked him away claimingthe DPP has recalled the file.

He has been returned to the office of the DPP on claims that they are dropping the charges against him.

His lawyer Vienna Mogare says the state have indicated to him that they want to subject his client Chivondo to Psychological examination to ascertain his mental state.
