George Kaliunga, a former Antubetwe Kiongo MCA, was killed in a banditry attack in Meru County.
On arrival at Maua Hospital on Sunday evening, he was pronounced dead after being shot in the chest. Kaliunga accompanied police officials who went after his stolen livestock in the Igembe South constituency area.
The former MCA was shot while in the company of Meru police officers in Kinna, Isiolo County. They were investigating the theft of 71 of his goats.
The goats were stolen from the deceased in Malaene, according to Mutuati police chief William Letting.
